Rebuilding the Circus Center
Rebuilding Hope, Transforming Lives!
Help us rebuild and
Our center was thriving with 180 students a year, and over 2,000 children and teenagers between the ages of 10 and 18 during the summer holidays. Unfortunately, airstrikes destroyed our school, and our group was scattered, resulting in us losing contact with many of our students.
Before the genocide
Marginalized children and youth between the ages of 10 and 18 live in difficult conditions or face social or personal challenges, especially those with disabilities resulting from war. Our goal is to work with 1,500 and more of these marginalized children.
Now
Despite everything we face, we are rebuilding our circus.
Read our plan below.
Here's what comes next.
Here's what comes next.
STEP ONE : Reconstruct The Free Gaza Circus Center
Estimated Cost 180k
Help us rebuild the Free Gaza Circus Center as a space for creativity, learning, circus arts education, and community connection after its destruction in the war on the Gaza strip.
You can see our remaining circus items we were able to dig out of rubble in this image.
STEP TWO : Fully Equip The Center
Estimated Cost 100k
This secures tents for mobile shows, purchases supplies like ropes, mats, hoops, stilts, ladders, juggling equipment, and the clown noses everyone loves . Almost all of our equipment was destroyed in bombings.
STEP THREE : Organize our first 40 shows in refugee camps
Estimated Cost 1.5k per show
This helps us feed our performers, organize transportation, and to help us collaborate with local officials. The goal of this work is to help ease the suffering in these camps and to provide children with support.
STEP FOUR : Organize 100 four day workshops for children 15 and under
Estimated Cost $800 per workshop
This helps provide children with psychological support, gives them a change of pace, and immerses them in circus culture. This helps them learn social skills and collaboration.
STEP FIVE : Train child service providers
Estimated Cost $6,700 per trainee
We want to organize 6 trainings - each training 15 child service providers on how to psychologically support children with circus skills.
STEP SIX : Management and operations
Estimated Cost $40k per year
This ensures we can keep the lights on, keep the center clean, and to pay our staff.
